- Great news for all sailors and fishermen in Northern Europe. We have just added a very high resolution (4km) wave model called WAVEWATCH (NO) covering Scandinavia and the surrounding area. This model is important for overall security on the sea. This model is provided to us by Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET.no).

1) New option for Automatic model configuration. Now you can choose what models do you prefer and should be used for the forecast map. You no longer have to constantly switch between models, but you can use the configuration that suits you best.
2) We have added a new high resolution model MEPS for Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Model has resolution 2.5 km and it is updated every 3 hours.

- Displaying snow and lightning strikes on the radar layer. Current lightning strikes are updated every 10 minutes including prediction. Snow information is determined based on the model predictions.

Stunning and smooth animation are now available. The transitions between each forecast times are fast and smooth. We are interpolating all values between forecast times with our state-of-the-art 3D technology. The changes and development of the weather is now much better visible.
We have also added a new climate layer "Precipitation Monthly Anomaly". It shows precipitation anomaly from the long-term average for a period from the first day of the month to a user selected day of the month.

1) We have significantly extended the amount of data offered from the ICON, ICON EU and GFS models. Thanks to the extended ICON models, the accuracy and resolution of forecasts on 7 days will increase.

Major update is here with amazing new features!
1) Weather fronts worldwide! We have created a neural network that predicts the positions of cold, warm, occluded, and stationary fronts.
2) Temperature anomaly! This new layer shows the temperature anomaly from the long-term average for a given time.
3) Sea surface temperature and Ocean currents.
4) Air Quality Index (AQI). This new layer shows the overall air quality.

- Probability of aurora. This new layer is based on the OVATION model and provides a 30 to 90 minute forecast of the location and occurrence probability of the aurora.
- Relative humidity at altitudes 900, 850 and 700 hPa. These layers are practical, for example, for determining visibility in the mountains (low relative humidity often allows great visibility).

We have started to display satellite images for Europe and Africa! Images are downloaded from two satellites named as Meteosat 8 and 11 (source Eumetsat). Views of the Earth from space are so beautiful.

Ventusky newly displays satellite images of America, Australia and Asia! We download data from three geostationary satellites - GOES16, GOES17 and Himawari. Images are available in high resolution in real time. Please note that Europe and Africa is not covered in this first version.

3D Globe is here!
Weather map is now displayed in 3D. You can see all weather layers on mesmerizing 3D Globe. This is a huge step for our app. Now you can watch weather maps without distortion. For example, it is clearly visible weather around the North Pole. Enjoy the most advanced weather app so far.
